Babylon Soundgarden Festival used to take place in Istanbul’s country side or summer resorts around Turkey, till this year! To celebrate Babylon’s 20th birthday, Pozitif team decided to move the festival to the heart of town, where its roots and soul have grown from. As the festival originally belongs to summer get-aways, we started with the idea of turning the venue, bomontiada, into an island of music in keeping with the spirit of the festival. With this core idea in mind, we designed a concept that reflects a tamed island ecosystem, which also marked the festival’s new route from the countryside to the heart of the city. In order to channel this concept, we designed iconic and giant bird masks as the main icons of the festival. Then, we executed the concept of the tamed island through all online and offline communication mediums.
